Embracing Change

Today evolved out of yesterday and is the shadow of tomorrow.”

This quote may sound familiar to my students during the Real Estate Brokers Licensure Review. It refers to Change, the economic principle in real estate which states that the property market and property itself is dynamic; its uses, worth or value, and demand are constantly evolving.

When Pueblo de Oro opened its doors in a plateau in upper Canitoan, Cagayan de Oro City back in 1996, the area was nothing but a vast cattle field of Don Pedro “Oloy” Roa, Sr.

Soon after, even as investors were frantic about the Asian Financial Crisis, Pueblo de Oro stood its ground and developed the 360-hectare barren land into a township. The promise “We’re building a Township!” has become a reality. The area is now dubbed as Uptown CDO, the city’s new growth area. This is a classic example of change.

Change may initially bring about uncertainty and resistance. However, there can be no growth unless we go beyond our comfort zones. By exploring new ideas and working together as a team, we are able to get work done faster, better and with higher levels of quality and service. This is a win-win for the company, our employees, and ultimately and most importantly, our customers.
As I take the helm of Pueblo de Oro CDO and Pueblo Golf, it is with this goal of Total Customer Satisfaction in mind that I am focused on bringing change to the following areas:

  • Construction Technology – exploring a new construction system to increase productivity and service
  • Digital Marketing – optimizing the use of online marketing
  • Customer Service – adopting a ticketing system or shared inbox for all customer questions and concerns.

Our ability to bring about these changes in terms of new ways of looking at customer needs, delivering quality service, strengthening interactions and bringing products effectively to the marketplace is critical for Pueblo de Oro to achieve a strong brand and build solid relationships with customers and all our stakeholders.
“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.” ~ Charles Darwin
