Participants of the Duaw Kagayan 2008 with PODC representatives and Ms. Kagay-an. Kneeling is Roy Gaane, Kagay-an International founding president.
Twelve delegates of Duaw Kagayan, composed of balikbayans from different states in the U.S., toured the Pueblo de Oro Township on December 11, 2008.
The tour began at Plaza de los Heroes, a memorial wall to the heroes of the Three Battles of Cagayan during the Philippine-American War. Many of the delegates had roots in Cagayan de Oro and recognized the names of their forefathers etched on the walls of the monument. The excursion continued through the Business Park and some of Pueblo de Oro' existing and ongoing projects.
Following the trip, the delegates were welcomed by PODC VP and General Manager Rudy Menes at Hotel Koresco where they were treated to lunch and project presentations by PODC Senior Product Manager Odie Tancongco (for residential projects) and Product Manager Volt Flores (commercial projects).
The Duaw Kagayan is an annual home visit or "balikbayan" program of Kagay-anons based in North America. The delegates were accompanied in their Pueblo tour by representatives from the Department of Tourism - Region X and Ms. Kagayan 2008 Ma. Jennifer Precious Gaston.
